Baby Name

Posted by John on March 25th, 2006

I am going to finally reveal the name we picked for our boy: Logan… from X-Men. Now before you judge, let’s start from the beginning.

Before we found out about the gender of our baby, we were looking for both boy and girl names. We had a hard time agreeing on one: we didn’t want something too common, but also not something too weird. We were thinking of names, and Becky said: “what about Mystic from X-Men, she is the coolest character!!”. Mystic?!? No, too weird. What other X-men names are there? Scott, it’s ok. Jean, naahh… Hey!! What about Logan!! Great!! We both loved it instantly.

So, even though I am a fan of the X-Men comic since 1991, and I like the movies, we didn’t choose the name because of Wolverine… We just like the name. Logan Tai. It sounds almost the same both in English and Italian.

Ok, you may now make fun of us…

Finalmente svelato! Bene… Logan, ma in Italiano c’è una traduzione? Tipo John=Giovanni?

Spero di no!! Cosa potrebbe essere? Logano? Bwha!!

In effetti ho poi cercato… Credo sia un nome di origine Scozzese ma non c’è un corrispondente in Italiano.

[...] You all know how we chose the name Logan (if you missed it, it’s here). So I asked my brother to help me with his Photoshop skills. This is only a test, according to him. So hopefully he will create something better very soon. But I just couldn’t wait any longer. If you’re curious, the original photo is here.   [link] [...]
