The ahyi saga continues…

On Aug 20th I told you we changed our Ahyi. The new one didn’t last long either, because last week we changed again. This time the reasons are not that bad, she was simply getting too comfortable and lazy, and she kept comparing her salary/holidays with her colleagues: “my colleague earns this much”, “my colleague has a week off”… She also wanted a raise only after a month, and sometimes she would have the face to lie down on our couch and sleep!!

Let’s be clear, these ahyi’s do not have a contract, this is not a regulated job, so we can fire them whenever we want and they can quit whenever they want, without notice.

She wasn’t all that bad though, she cooked nicely, treated Logan well. Ironically she was much better than the previous one, but lasted much less. This is because Becky suppressed herself with the previous one, even though she was very annoying. This time she decided not to suppress herself anymore, and just fired her.

Our new and current ahyi is our first one. Huh? Yes, I probably didn’t write about it, but our first full time ahyi was with us a month before Logan was born, however she was sick and had to quit about a week after Logan’s birth. She was very nice though, and although she is a little slow at doing things, she does them well.

So we decided to ask her back, now that she’s healthy. Becky seems to have a good relationship with her, and we trust her honesty. Hopefully this one will last longer.
