Reading

I usually like reading things sequentially, so I will never start a new book/story before finishing the current one. That goes for novels, comics etc…
However I can now read in many different formats and it doesn’t make sense to me to read sequentially anymore. Here’s what I am “reading” right now:
- Jeffrey Brown’s Unlikely, graphic novel in paperback.
- Queen & Country, comics in digital format on my PC.
- Cory Doctorow’s Eastern Standard Tribe, ebook on my phone.
- 7th Son by J.C. Hutchins, audio book on my iPod.
Each of these different formats allow me to consume these stories in different circumstances: I cannot read on the bus, but I can listen to my iPod. I cannot take my PC with me, but I always have my phone.
Having so much to read I had to let go of something else, so I haven’t watched much TV or DVD lately. It’s also nice having time with my family before going to sleep.
I do feel busy some times, but it’s just more practical for me to go ahead with all these stories in parallel.
