Bad Month

Posted by John on October 12th, 2007

I haven’t blogged for some time, but I’ve had a very had few weeks. Lots of things happened to me:

- I lost my phone, my new/old BlackBerry which I really liked. I lost in a cab, it slipped out of my pocket and I forgot to check the seat before leaving.

- Logan broke my glasses, again! I just bought this pair a few months ago, now I am just using contacts. Logan already broke 4 pairs, he just loves them.

- Last week I got robbed. I was walking in downtown in a very crowded street, my wallet was in a small bag on my side. They managed to unzip the bad and take my wallet without me noticing. I had some cash and bank cards. No other documents luckily.

- Then this week we fired our ah-yi. This was the one that had been working for us since before Logan was born, but had to leave twice. We called her back each time because we liked her and trusted her. Then the other day she completely shocked us.

In brief, she left the garbage in the underground level where it’s not supposed to be. We saw the bag and thought it was ours, but she denied it. Then Becky took it back up in the apartment, and started taking things out. First Logan’s diaper, an italian one brought by a friend of mine from Italy. She said it was someone else’s. Then Becky found mail with her name on it! She said that it slipped out of her bag and fell into this one!!! After the next paper Becky took out, she stopped talking. She didn’t say one word!! She didn’t admit she was at fault, she didn’t apologize or anything.

You must understand, this was not a total stranger. Becky has been very close to her, once she was in an accident and Becky really wanted to go see her. Even while she was not working for us, Becky kept in touch with her, and she even came to see us. Becky really treated her as a friend. And this is how she treats us!! Anyway, enough about that.

I hope that my bad luck is over, and nothing else happens to me.
