All my photos are on there, so people in China won’t be able to see them. I am hopeful that Yahoo (parent company of Flickr) will solve this issue soon.

If you live outside China you won’t have problems. I will keep uploading pictures and you can enjoy them as usual.

This is the new myspace.com but with a cleaner and easier to use interface. So if you are on Facebook, add me to your friends.

The other site is Instant Blogging Collection (notice the initials).  This is a tumblelog, a place where I can collect random links, quotes, photos, audio and video that I find around the web. This site allows me to instantly blog about funny, strange, weird, curious, peculiar, perplexing, unusual or simply interesting stuff that I stumble upon while surfing the internet. A sort of stream of consciousness on the internet.

Welcome to the third incarnation of my blog. I have finally updated Wordpress (the software running this site), and have also changed the design.

I’ve been using the previous theme called Journalized by Mike Little since Feb 7th 2006, so it’s been a little more than a year. Here is a screenshot of IBC v2.0:

The new version, IBC v3.0, is called Andreas09, designed by Andreas Viklund and ported to Wordpress by Ainslie Johnson. I think this is much cleaner and neater, but it is also much easier to customize, thanks to the new Wordpress Widgets.

I still have a few tweaks to be done, but for the most part this design is complete. Let me know what you think of it!

So if you wanted to comment on my posts you had to register first.

I have now installed a new plugin, that will allow you to write a comment without registering first. All you need to do is write the code displayed in the image next to your comment.

Of course you call still use your registered account as well.

Hopefully this will work and render commenting easier.

Basically when you visit the site you can write a message, which will be displayed live (no need to reload the page), and everyone else can see it.

The idea is that if more people are visiting the site at the same time, they have a tool to communicate easily. Let’s see if it’s useful at all, and remember to leave a message!!

Update: I tried it, but the spammers win again. Even closing access to registered users only, they managed to leave spam messages. So this plugin is now disabled. Thanks for Tommy for trying it out. Ciao!

In the last few years my reading has slowed considerably, for practical reasons (can’t find them here in CH), for financial reasons, and for personal reasons (need time for family).

However I am still following the industry, and read some comics once in a while. So I am starting a new blog all dedicated to comics (so that readers of this blog who are not interested won’t get comics posts here).

For this new blog I am trying a new blog service, which looks very promising, called Vox. Check it out.

I always thought that my site design contained a lot of cool things, but I was afraid it would be confusing. So in an attempt at clarifying things, I added a navigation menu, just below the header graphic. I am still tweaking it, so it’s not completely done, but at least it works. Let me know what you think.

I also added a podcast player at the top right corner. It contains a playlist of all episodes of my podcast, so you can stream it right from this site.

Any other idea/suggestion for this site’s design is welcome.

Category is the type of post, for example this is a post about my webiste, so its category is “Site Updates”. You can also subscribe to individual categories.

Tags are keywords that describe the specific content of the post. For example this post is about tags and categories. Each post will have a list of tags at the bottom, and you can click on each tag to see other posts with the same tag.

At the moment there are only a few tags, but in the next few days I will try to add tags to all my previous posts. Once I am done, you will be able to navigate my archive through tags, check out the Tag Archive page.

The number in the blue box on the right sidebar is from Feedburner. Unfortunately it seems like there are problems accessing Feedburner in Italy:


We are currently investigating reports that users in Italy (and possibly, greater Europe) are having trouble connecting to FeedBurner. This does affect all users in the affected regions, preventing access to both the feedburner.com website and any feeds hosted at feeds.feedburner.com.
